Will every StoryFile be stored in Conversa?

  • Yes. Conversa provides administrative tools for all StoryFiles.  As a Conversa user, you will have access to edit or view all StoryFiles assigned to your organization/group.  This includes all StoryFiles that you create through Conversa or StoryFile Life.  Conversa can work across multiple cloud platforms.  When you sign up for Conversa, you can choose whether you run on AWS or Azure cloud services.  Ultimately this is where the individual videos are stored and streamed. Conversa was designed with high security levels to provide designated levels (to be determined by business host)  of privacy and security for content recorded.

What Features does Conversa have?

Conversa provides an end-to-end solution from recording video content, AI training, and interactive video playback. 

  • Create: Plan out interview scripts using a library of prebuilt or custom generated AI questions
  • Record:  Quickly add videos using their web camera in Conversa Record and Studio. 
  • Edit and Upload Content – Upload content from off-line media editors like Premiere or FinalCut.
  • Add Training Data – One good video can answer many different questions. For any given query, Conversa searches video transcripts to find the best match. Accuracy can be further improved by adding more question variants. 
  • Test the Interactivity – Users can start talking to their storyfile as soon as they finish recording. Videos are immediately uploaded automatically and linked with the AI engine.
  • Engage by Publishing and Sharing – Users can interact with storyfiles on a wide range of devices. The StoryFile Ask app can be viewed in any browser or embedded in a web page, mobile application or video game

How does Conversa AI enable realistic conversations?

  • Conversa provides tools to easily record and connect human responses to user questions. These responses can be pre-scripted or drawn from open-ended interviews. One response can actually answer many different questions; these different questions are identified as variants to the original question during AI training. When users engage with an interactive storyfile, their queries are automatically linked with the best responses based on a proprietary semantic encoding. User queries can also trigger other supplemental information such as websites or other conversations.

What languages does Conversa support?

  • Conversa provides out-of-the-box support for 15 different languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Thai, Turkish, and Russian. Users select their preferred language, and AI automatically compares questions and responses across different languages. Businesses can optionally add additional training data in different languages to further increase accuracy.

What new features are coming in the future?

  • We are continuing to optimize the creation tools to make it faster to record and train a StoryFile.  This includes using generative AI to provide guidance before and during the interview, and improved analytics so you can better understand your users  whether in person guests, or online visitors and clients.
  • Improve our video player to enable more realistic, intelligent conversations for both physical installations and online websites.  We are deploying dynamic question guides to help visitors navigate and view the best conversational content.

Does Conversa support Single Sign On?

  • Conversa supports Single Sign On via Google and Facebook, making it easy to sign up and login.  StoryFile also offers custom Single Sign on for enterprise clients with their preferred Identity Access Management solution via SAML or OAuth 2.0.

How does Conversa keep StoryFile customer and business data secure?

  • All StoryFile personal data and video content is private by default. It is up to the Conversa user to decide what information they want to share and where it will be published. StoryFiles can be shared with individuals, specific teams of users or employees, or with the general public. Users can sign up for StoryFile accounts using personal or business email addresses or link to an existing Facebook or Google account. We also support enterprise SSO integration through OpenID and SAML 2.0.
  • All interactions with StoryFiles take place over a secure HTTPS connection. Conversation logs can be anonymized, if needed, to remove personally identifying information (PPI). Video data is securely stored and encrypted on the StoryFile cloud. We support both AWS and Azure cloud services and storage backends.

How does Conversa work with existing Learning Management Systems?

  • StoryFile conversations can be embedded in SCORM packages compatible with many Learning Management Systems. Conversa also provides in-app capabilities for instructors to design learning activities, invite students to cohorts, define scoring metrics, and analyze performance and provide student feedback.

A Creator subscription is great for developers and creators to have access to conversational video and Conversa technology with the option of adding additional storage and support features.

Can I change plans if I decide I want to upgrade?

  • StoryFile provides basic support (“StoryFile Support”) for the Conversa platform at no additional cost. StoryFile Support will be available between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm Pacific Time. Support inquiries will be entered into StoryFile’s ticketing system and will be responded to in order of receipt by StoryFile. You may purchase additional support levels for an additional fee. All pricing and features are included on the StoryFile website.

What will happen to StoryFile content if the company goes out of business?

  • All of the content stored in a Conversa or StoryFile Like account is owned by the client, and clients can download and save all of their video assets and user engagement information.

About Our Interactive Video Player

How do I talk to a StoryFile?

The Ask Video player provides a conversational interface to all StoryFile content.  Viewers can ask questions in their own words using either voice or text input, and the system will identify and play the best video response. The goal is to help you build personal connections, and make it easier to communicate with the world: employees, customers, or visitors to websites and physical installations.

How do users know what to ask?

  • The conversation is driven by the curiosity and needs of the viewer. To help guide the conversation, the player can recommend questions and related content in the form of Hints.  The video player can also provide introductory videos to help set the stage, time out videos to restart the conversation after periods of inactivity, and redirect responses that can link to other resources outside the video player.

Can a StoryFile answer any question? (How does a storyfile know what to say)

  • StoryFile retrieves videos from a database of recorded answers.It will not hallucinate new content. If a user asks an off-topic question, the StoryFile can redirect users back to suggested content or link to other  external content.

Are StoryFile videos real or synthetic?

  • StoryFile’s aims to create authentic interactions. The technology exists to clone a CEO or your grandmother – recreate their appearance and voice.  What matters is the lived experiences and personal knowledge that can not be easily simulated. Nothing can replace real human stories. StoryFile AI helps you gather and preserve those stories, making you a better interviewer by suggesting questions and uploading all videos in real-time. StoryFile provides digital recreation services or allows you to upload synthetic video from 3rd party services.  
  • StoryFile is a member of the Content Authenticity Initiative, which sets standards to track media from capture to playback and label any modifications or AI synthesis.  As more media companies join this movement, this will help the public trust the photos and videos they consume.

Where can I publish a StoryFile?

  • The player is designed to be played in any web browser, so it can stand on its own or be easily embedded in a website or application as an iframe or web element. 

Can I build my own application using the Ask platform? Do you have APIs that we can use?

  • You can customize the player using URL parameters and extend the experience with our REST and Post Message API.

Can I control who can talk to my StoryFile?

  • All StoryFiles are set to private by default, you may switch the StoryFile to require password authentication for specific users (Protected) or available to all (Public).
